Hmmmmm star star star star_border star_border TL DR: I was pretty enthused about this app, but the payment model completely killed it for me. Beyond a few nifty gimmicks like Secret Locations and AR, there isn’t anything I find truly useful in my day-to-day that the default weather app doesn’t already do, and in a fairly cleaner, less cluttered, less ad-infested fashion. And if you’re trying to share a screenshot of the hourly weather, it replaces the weather info with a message to your friend to, yeah, give the dev their money.īut I still can’t find a good reason that I’d want to give the dev more of my money. Just another reminder to give the dev your money. It would be nice if there was maybe, you know, weather information or something there.

This is already the most expensive weather app on the store, and now it’s asking for more money.Įven better, every time you open the app, it tells you about all of the merch you can buy on the store, front-and-center of the main screen. Over half of the features are behind this paywall (customizing the watch app, changing data source. The only issue is, to make it do much more than Apple’s included weather app, you have to pay more money to join the “ultra premium club”. You get everything you’d hope for, like hourly, weekly, conditon forecasts, nice daily/hourly summaries, radar, etc. And Carrot is pretty packed with features. So, if you pay $5 for a weather app, you’d expect it to be pretty well-ahead of all of the other freely and cheaply available apps you could get.
